This morning’s run was just awesome. Took me so long to get out of the house. Yes! It is so difficult to get up in the morning:-(. But I eventually made it to the road and decided, today is it! I don’t have a lot of time and I want to do the distances, so I am just going to have to run faster. I just ran freely…warmed up at the house and did not worry about starting slow. Basically started as if it was a race. Went all out for it, did not really worry to much about heart rate although I monitored it, but merely from the perspective to see how I felt at that stage of the run. I have to say “I felt good!”.
Hills hopefully conquered…
For the first time I was focusing on how I was running the hill. I basically ran untill I got tired, slowed down until I have to walk and I had no control over what I was doing. Today I decided to take control. I noticed that it was difiicult to run 2mins flat out on a hill, because I was so tired after that, I had to walk. I adjusted that to 1min and still felt I was not managing. And then it dawned on me. Start with 30s run, 30s walk and build your base from there. Pretty simple, yet it took me so long to figure out and apply. This way I managed to ran HALF of Norfolk Rd today!!! This was trule amazing! I was tired, but I manager to complete 6.1km in 38mins, truely a personal best for me. I am so chuffed with myself and looking forward to the next hill 🙂
